Now, to London.
18.35 A superb afternoon: T & I enjoyed the civility, graciousness, charm & hospitality of High Tea with Dr. Laidre, the Estonian Ambassador to the UK, at the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia, close to the Albert Memorial in Hyde Park.

I would have gone without eating for 3 days, had I known the generosity & extent of the goodies provided. It is rare that English High Tea is provided properly, and this afternoon was a rare & joyful exception. As it was, I pumped down as much as I was able & carried away a box of goodies for later.
Dr. Laidre has proposed a tour of Churchscapes in Estonia, a suggestion which Slinky Minx is supporting. T worked in Estonia some years ago, and the country spoke to her; she has been suggesting since that we visit.

We met friends for dinner, the agreed venue The Bollo near Chiswick Park tube. This converted from pub to gastro pub a few years ago, and became a regular destination for us. However, the nature & identity of The Bollo has changed since my last visit there. In its former incarnation, it had a dining area with no smoking zone. Non-smokers know that clouds of smoke do not discriminate between defined areas, but at least there is some small respite from ingesting the fumes of addicts sitting on adjoining tables.
This evening our reserved table was by the entrance doors, a smoking zone, rather than at the back in the (former) no smoking eating area. The gastro pub is now a pub again & the seating re-arranged to accommodate packed. The entire pub is a smoking zone for a younger, media-oriented clientele. Our friends were late, so we sat for 45 minutes breathing the fumes of a full pub of smokers, deafened by the constant shouting. Our first pal through the door took it in immediately and asked: shall we go somewhere else? You betcha! and we fled the appalling environment of Le Bollo Nouveau to a restaurant on the Chiswick High Road that had separate fumage & non-fumage zones.
Now, to Bredonborough.
